HANTECH BIO-TECH will hold its pre-listing investor conference tomorrow and is expected to begin trading on the Taipei Exchange (TPEx) by the end of September. Chairman Lee Yu-Lin said that, compared with traditional capsule or tablet supplements, functional beverages and crystal-jelly products in retort pouches are easier to consume and are therefore increasingly being adopted by manufacturers. The company also sees strong potential for health beverages in Southeast Asia and plans to actively expand its overseas markets.
Lee said that HANTECH BIO-TECH was founded in 2007 and initially focused on the sale of traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients, particularly Guilu-related materials. In 2010, the company began developing low-temperature grinding technology for ultra-fine nano pearl powder. In 2021, it began introducing horizontal filling machines and sterilization equipment for retort pouches and expanded into health supplement filling and contract manufacturing services. Its current core businesses include the R&D, ODM, and OEM manufacturing of liquid and crystal-jelly health supplements.
Lee noted that HANTECH BIO-TECH provides comprehensive one-stop contract manufacturing services for health supplements, covering everything from formulation design to retort pouch filling and packaging. The company also develops health supplement ingredients. For liquid filling, HANTECH operates multiple horizontal filling machines, providing sufficient production capacity, and offers a wide range of patented pouch molds for customers to choose from. These capabilities have established the company as a major contract manufacturer of retort pouch beverages in Taiwan.
Lee explained that HANTECH’s liquid retort pouches offer several advantages, including a wide variety of pouch designs, high production yields, low leakage rates, refined manufacturing quality, compact packaging, and convenient transportation. Brand customers have gradually shifted their product packaging to the retort pouches manufactured by HANTECH, making this packaging format an emerging industry trend.
Lee added that customer demand remains strong. In addition to its existing Yuanlin plant, HANTECH’s Xihu Headquarters facility will officially begin operations this year, with production capacity already in place. Although the company’s sales have historically been concentrated in Taiwan, it has recently accelerated its overseas expansion and has already developed customers in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and China. These markets are expected to provide additional growth momentum for HANTECH BIO-TECH.
HANTECH BIO-TECH reported revenue of NTD 625 million in 2023, representing year-over-year growth of 106.65%. Net profit after tax reached NTD 148 million, while basic earnings per share (EPS) stood at NTD 7.66. The company has maintained strong growth over the past three years.
With a positive long-term outlook for functional liquid beverages, HANTECH BIO-TECH aims to leverage its TPEx listing to strengthen access to capital, attract talent, enhance brand visibility, and secure more ODM orders.
