HANTECH BIO-TECH (1294) will hold its pre-listing investor conference tomorrow, Aug. 28, and is expected to officially list on the Taipei Exchange (TPEx) in late September. In 2023, the company’s annual revenue increased 106.65% year over year to NTD 625 million, while net profit after tax reached NTD 148 million and earnings per share (EPS) stood at NTD 7.66. The company has maintained a high growth rate over the past three years.
According to the latest revenue figures, HANTECH BIO-TECH reported revenue of NTD 77 million in July 2024, representing year-over-year growth of 37.23%. Revenue for the first seven months of 2024 reached NTD 474 million, up 56.20% from the same period last year, reflecting strong operating performance.
Founded in 2007, HANTECH BIO-TECH initially focused on the sale of traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients, particularly Guilu-related materials. In 2010, the company began developing low-temperature grinding technology for ultra-fine nano pearl powder. In 2012, it introduced horizontal filling machines and sterilization equipment for retort pouches and expanded into health supplement filling and contract manufacturing services.
Today, HANTECH’s core businesses include the R&D, ODM, and OEM manufacturing of liquid and crystal-jelly health supplements. The company provides comprehensive one-stop contract manufacturing services, covering everything from formulation design to retort pouch filling and packaging, while also developing health supplement ingredients.
HANTECH uses horizontal filling machines for its liquid filling processes and operates multiple units to ensure sufficient production capacity. The company also offers a variety of patented pouch molds for customers to choose from, establishing itself as a major contract manufacturer of retort pouch beverages in Taiwan.
In addition, HANTECH’s proprietary ultra-fine nano pearl powder manufacturing process and food-grade Guilu concentrated powder have been commercially available for many years. They have become major supply sources in Taiwan, supported by a stable long-term customer base. The company also extensively incorporates these proprietary ingredients into its ODM products, contributing positively to profitability.
In the post-pandemic era, growing consumer awareness of health and wellness has continued to drive expansion in Taiwan’s health supplement market. HANTECH’s liquid retort pouches offer several advantages, including a wide variety of pouch designs, high production yields, low leakage rates, refined manufacturing quality, a compact packaging footprint, and convenient transportation.
These advantages have been well received by consumers, prompting more brand customers to transition their product packaging to the retort pouches primarily manufactured by HANTECH. As a result, this packaging format is gradually becoming an industry trend.
In response to strong customer demand, HANTECH has expanded beyond its existing Yuanlin plant with the official launch of its Xihu Headquarters facility this year, providing additional production capacity. While the company’s sales were previously concentrated mainly in Taiwan, it has recently accelerated the development of overseas markets and has already expanded its customer base to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and mainland China.
As well-known domestic and international health supplement brands increasingly launch functional liquid beverages and expand these products into overseas markets, the addition of new customers, new products, and new sales regions is expected to continue driving HANTECH’s growth momentum.
HANTECH BIO-TECH reported revenue of NTD 303 million in 2022, NTD 625 million in 2023, and NTD 397 million in the first half of 2024. Gross profit for the respective periods was NTD 127 million, NTD 281 million, and NTD 162 million, while pre-tax profit reached NTD 58 million, NTD 185 million, and NTD 104 million.
Basic earnings per share for the same periods were NTD 2.66, NTD 7.66, and NTD 3.24, respectively, reflecting strong growth in both revenue and profitability.
With the long-term outlook for functional liquid beverages remaining positive, HANTECH aims to leverage its TPEx listing to strengthen access to capital, attract talent, enhance brand visibility, and secure more ODM orders. The company’s future operating performance and continued business growth are therefore expected to remain promising.
