The 2026 Changhua County HANTECH Cup National Handball Invitational Tournament will be held at Ming-Sheng Elementary School from February 12 to 15. The tournament has attracted teams from across Taiwan and features multiple divisions, including elementary school, junior high school, and social divisions, providing players at all levels with opportunities to compete and exchange skills. The opening ceremony was held today, February 12, with Li Yu-Lin, Chairman of HANTECH Biotechnology; Changhua County Councilor Chen Yu-Chi; and Wu Yin-Ning, Deputy Executive Director of the Central Taiwan Office of the Executive Yuan, among those in attendance.
Li Yu-Lin, Chairman of HANTECH Biotechnology, said that as a local company rooted in Changhua, HANTECH Biotechnology is committed to continuously strengthening its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices while actively expanding its business. By exclusively hosting the 2026 Changhua County HANTECH Cup National Handball Invitational Tournament and working closely with Ming-Sheng Elementary School, a local handball powerhouse in Puxin Township, the company is directly addressing several core values of the SDGs. Linking its efforts to the Sustainable Development Goals can further contribute to building a healthier and more equitable future.
Li Yu-Lin said that the sponsorship supports the Ming-Sheng Elementary School handball team’s training and participation in competitions, ensuring that students have access to regular physical activity and promoting their physical and mental well-being, in line with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. At the same time, providing opportunities for off-site training and competition experience helps foster resilience, teamwork, and other non-cognitive skills, contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education.
Li Yu-Lin added that the sponsorship funding also helps ease the financial burden on grassroots families, ensuring that children from different backgrounds have equal opportunities to participate in sports and contributing to the goal of SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. Furthermore, the long-term partnership between the company and the local school serves as an excellent example of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, in line with the core indicators of the Ministry of Education’s Sports Administration initiative for “Sports Enterprise Certification.”
Li Yu-Lin noted that the Ming-Sheng Elementary School handball team has achieved outstanding results, earning strong finishes in major competitions such as the County Magistrate’s Cup on multiple occasions in recent years and establishing itself as a benchmark school in the local community. By sponsoring a high-performing team, HANTECH Biotechnology is strengthening its corporate image around the values of “pursuing excellence” and “deepening local engagement.” Going forward, these sponsorship achievements will also be incorporated directly into HANTECH Biotechnology’s ESG report, making sports sustainability a part of the company’s corporate culture.
